Entry and visas

Rules depend on your passport: many nationalities enter visa-free, others need an e-Visa. Apply only on the official portal, evisa.gov.tr. Your passport should be valid for at least 150 days from arrival.

From the airport

Most visitors come from Istanbul: a fast ferry to Mudanya or Güzelyalı and a short bus ride take about 2 to 2.5 hours; buses via the Osmangazi Bridge are similar.

Getting around

The metro, trams and buses use the BursaKart. The old centre is walkable; take a taxi or bus to Cumalıkızık and the cable car station.

Local tips

  • Uludağ is much colder than the city; take warm clothes even in spring.
  • Hot-spring hamams have separate sections or times for men and women.
  • Friday prayer crowds the Grand Mosque at midday; visit in the morning.
  • Try candied chestnuts (kestane şekeri), a Bursa speciality.
