Comment policy

Comments are for questions and first-hand experiences that help other travellers. Every comment is read by a moderator before it appears, so the conversation stays useful, respectful and safe.

In short

  • Be helpful, on topic and polite; share what you saw and when.
  • Never post personal data: passport numbers, phone numbers, booking references.
  • Every comment is moderated before publication; your email address is never shown.
  • We can't answer personal medical, legal or visa questions in the comments.

What we publish

  • Questions about a guide, and answers from other readers.
  • First-hand travel experiences, ideally with the month and year: "At Istanbul Airport in March 2026, the e-visa check took ten minutes."
  • Updates you've noticed, such as a new fee or a changed procedure, with a link to the official source if you have one.
  • Polite disagreement with us or other readers, ideally with a source.

What we don't publish

  • Personal attacks, insults, hate speech, threats or harassment of anyone.
  • Advertising, spam, self-promotion, affiliate or referral links, and links that aren't relevant.
  • Personal data, yours or anyone else's: passport or visa numbers, ID numbers, phone numbers, home addresses, booking references or photos of documents.
  • Requests for individual medical, legal or visa advice. Please ask your doctor, the embassy or the authority concerned.
  • Offers to sell or arrange visas, documents or "guaranteed" appointments; these are often scams.
  • Content that is illegal, misleading, infringes someone else's rights, or discusses how to break entry rules.
  • Comments in a language other than the page's language, unless they are a short quote.

How moderation works

  • A moderator reads each comment before it is published, usually within a few days.
  • Each comment is also checked automatically for spam, and each person can post only a few comments per hour.
  • We may shorten a comment to remove personal data or off-topic parts, or decline it, without notice.
  • Where a helpful comment contains an outdated rule, we may add a short note or update the guide itself.

Your name and your data

The name you enter is shown publicly with your comment; you may use a first name or a nickname. Your email address is never shown. To prevent abuse we store a one-way hashed version of your IP address, never the address itself. Rejected and spam comments are deleted after 90 days. See our privacy policy.

Removing a comment

To have one of your comments removed, email info@sereyan.com from the address you used, or tell us the guide and the name you used. To report someone else's comment, send us its link and the reason; we review every report.

Why a comment wasn't published

If your comment didn't appear, it most likely broke one of the rules above, contained personal data or asked for individual advice. You're welcome to post again without the problem part, or to write to us.
