From the airport

Antalya Airport has direct flights from much of Europe and the Gulf. The AntRay tram and city buses reach the centre in about 40 minutes; a taxi takes about 20.

Getting around

Trams and buses use the AntalyaKart card. The old town is on foot; for the ancient sites and coast, take a tour or rent a car.

Local tips

  • July and August are very hot: sightsee early and keep midday for the beach or museums.
  • Big all-inclusive resorts sit in Lara and Belek; stay in the city for walking and restaurants.
  • Take a hat and water to Perge and Aspendos; there is little shade.
  • Agree the price before taxi boat trips and ask what's included.

Areas worth knowing

  • Lara
  • The Turquoise Coast
  • Kaleiçi (old town)
