Entry and visas

Every visitor must submit the free SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before arrival, on the ICA website or the MyICA app. Visa rules depend on your nationality; Indian citizens, for example, need a visa.

From the airport

From Changi Airport, the MRT reaches the city in about 45 minutes; taxis and ride-hailing take around 25 minutes.

Getting around

Tap a contactless bank card or phone on MRT trains and buses. The network is extensive, clean and air-conditioned.

Local tips

  • Fines are real: no littering, no eating or drinking on the MRT, and chewing gum can't be sold.
  • Tap water is safe to drink.
  • Expect a short tropical downpour most afternoons; carry an umbrella.
  • Hawker centres are the cheapest way to eat well; many stalls take cards or QR payments.
