Entry and visas
From 15 September 2026, visa-exempt entry to Thailand is for tourism only and allows a stay of up to 30 days. Visa-exempt entry is normally limited to two entries per calendar year, and it does not cover business travel such as conferences or meetings. All foreign nationals must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 3 days before arrival at tdac.immigration.go.th. Travellers who need a visa should apply through the official Thai e-Visa site before travelling.
Official websiteFrom the airport
Krabi International Airport has flights from Bangkok (about 1 hour 20 minutes) and some international routes; Ao Nang is 30 minutes by taxi or shuttle.
Getting around
Songthaews and taxis link Krabi Town and Ao Nang; longtail boats go to Railay and the islands.
Local tips
- Longtail boats stop when the sea is rough in the rainy season.
- National park fees for the islands are paid separately, often in cash.
- Bring reef-safe sunscreen; some areas ban sunscreens that harm coral.
- Many visitors need to fill in the TDAC arrival card online before landing.
