Entry and visas

Many visa-exempt visitors normally need a K-ETA before travelling, but citizens of a list of countries, including the GCC states, the UK, the US and most of the EU, are exempt until 31 December 2026. Since January 2026, visitors without a K-ETA fill in the online e-Arrival card. Indian citizens need a visa.

Official website

From the airport

Jeju Airport has frequent flights from Seoul (about 1 hour) and Busan; the route is one of the busiest in the world. Some nationalities can visit Jeju visa-free under island rules.

Getting around

Buses cover the island but slowly; most visitors rent a car (an international driving permit is needed) or book taxi tours.

Local tips

  • Reserve Hallasan summit trails in advance; they close in bad weather.
  • Typhoons can hit from July to September.
  • Try black pork barbecue and Hallabong tangerines.
  • Jeju has its own entry rules; check them if you are flying in directly.

Areas worth knowing
