From the airport

Foz do Iguaçu/Cataratas International Airport (IGU) is 15 km south of the city center and 3 km from the national park. Local bus 120 connects the airport to the city center (40–60 min) and the park visitor center (10 min); taxis and rideshares are also available.

Getting around

Local buses operated by FozTrans cover the city and run to the airport and national park; rideshare apps and taxis are useful for direct trips.

Local tips

  • Bring a light rain jacket and quick-dry clothing; the falls area is often wet and trails can be slippery.
  • Carry small change and some cash in Brazilian reais for buses and small vendors; cards are widely accepted in hotels and restaurants.
  • Be aware of your surroundings, especially at night and in less central areas; use reputable transport after dark.
  • Summer (December–March) is hot and humid with frequent rain; winter (June–August) can be cooler, so pack a light jacket.
